As you can tell, I love the idea of making our own art for our home staging projects. Artwork can be hugely expensive if you want something that’s not in everyone else’s staging photos. If you make it, it’s less expensive, it’s personalized and there is actually a much better chance that you’ll sell it for a profit. Let’s face it, when you pick something up at Marshall’s, everyone has seen it. When you make your own, no one has and everyone wants it!
Here are a couple of projects that I really thought had a cool factor, particularly when the upcoming winter days can be so bleak and dreary.
Craft’s N Coffee give a fantastic tutorial on creating these art pieces. If you love the mossy or pepple spheres, she also has easy tutorials for those!
I really love the texture in this birch art – it makes me think of the winters when I was a teenager and we would ski in Colorado. For me, it just says winter. If you want to make the birch cones or the birch bark cubes, click on the highlighted text for their tutorials.
Now, the thing that I keep thinking of with the piece of stick art in the center of the birch bark pieces is how cool that would look in rolled magazines. You know, maybe having several, running in different directions – vertically, horizontally or at an angle. hmmmm….. I’m currently working on another magazine art project, but I just may have to try this one out…
What do you think? Would it look cool on a canvas like the sticks? I’m kind of thinking that it might.
